There are many modes of third-party advertising these days...billboards, newspapers, magazines, etc. The unusual component with all of these though is that by purchasing the ad, the supplying company usually offers "free design." This sounds great, but when something is offered for free, the results are usually not the best possible, as there is no incentive for the designer.
